I just want to hold hands and pray with my wife and then fight the enemies of humanity together. I would enjoy a low power and lower stakes (relatively) game about being a low ranking acolyte or something, and you just do a good job, and there's some mysterious cultists you have to stop. It's not all combat and has an emphasis on clues and figuring out the conspiracy.
Basically what Dark Heresy often is and is supposed to be, but I know Owlcat is going to have you speed up the ranks and take over the investigation and then save the entire planet. Not that that's bad, and I know they do those stories because that's what most people want, but I just have the opinion that 40k storytelling also excels when the story is literally about survival and you're lucky just to live another day. I don't need to be the rogue trader or the inquisitor lord. Just give me a nice waifu, a small band of adventurers, and an interesting conspiracy to unravel for some medium or low stakes and I'm happy.
I am probably most excited about Dark Heresy. Of course I'm going to buy and enjoy Solasta 2, Archquest, Bloodlines 2, New Arc Line, Clockwork Revolution, The Expanse, and whatever else comes out, but Dark Heresy is my number 1 game for next year/near future. I'm so excited.
