You didn't even use the commercial where the guy throws the Playstation off the building, with Phil Lamarr saying: ""Fly, plaything, fly. You're not ready". Which is the commercial that I member seeing on TV back in the day. No, Sega of America's advertising was not good at all. They don;t say anything about the game beyond that you can fly around in real time 3D, and they do advertise the NiGHTS 3D pad that came bundled with the game. The magazine ads were OK. NiGHTS was released in August 1996 in North America, a month before Crash Bandicoot on the Playstation on September 9th 1996 (one year anniversary of the NA launch of the Playstation) and Mario 64 was one of the two launch titles for the N64, which released on September 29th 1996. Sega of America was promising investors that Sonic XTreme would launch Christmas 1996... but it never did. So this was Sega's 'big' 3D game to compete against Crash and Mario 64 at a pivotal time before the 1996 Holiday season. The Saturn tanked up against the new N64 and hot as fuck Playstation.
