They were all horrible. I will not be gaslit on this point. They were so bad that even Colors felt like a breath of fresh air by comparison at the time. It was only when Sonic stagnated hard after that that anyone started having any sympathy for those games.
That said 06 COULD have been good with like...another year or two of concentrated development and a solid rewrite. And without whatever the FUCK they did to Eggman's design.
