Anon, Girls Frontline playerbase is predominantly male. In that kind of sphere, a male unit just wont sell well unless somehow he's extremely powerful and necessary for clearing out stages. It doesn't help that GF IP is built upon waifufaggotry since its inception, so suddenly announcing a male unit would come off as a surprise at best and an attack to its cultivated audience at worst.
