I like and appreciate these types of names. Too many battle force names (mostly in 40K) have really lame names. I get that there are only so many possibilities for a non-canon bunch of models that only serve to clear GW stock and reel in fomo spender. However the problem is their naming philosophy.

In 40K, the recent khornate battleforce was called “gorestorm slaughter pack” or something which sounds lame compared to the character of the recent BoK regiment of renown, “the red revelation”

Idk but “the red revelation” and “founding foray” sound cooler than “blood-X kill-y force”
>the red revelation
Sounds religious and spiritual, which is what khornates believe they practice when they’re mindlessly fighting

>founding foray
Gives the dudes in your box a story, like their an expedition force or treading bravely into the wilds to reclaim land

>scarlet jury
Kind of a cute joke. You got the judge, jury, and executioner in one box. The parody-like sculpts are the icing on the cake

Is this just some autistic fixation on my part or do other anons pay attention to the names and subtle linguistics behind the names of these boxes?

And here’s a slaughter priest I just finished

Finished this slaughterpriest. I like it a lot but I think I rely too much on guilliman flesh and TTC flesh wash to tie my skin tones together. I would prefer a paler skin tone with darker red recesses but this one looks cool too. It’s more virile and angry than a paler, blood-shaded, sinister skin tone like on the box art. Was surprisingly fast to do.
