Truth be told, I feel like I wouldn't mind shipping as much if more people treated it like it was just a facet of their broad interest in an IP, but what it feels like in reality is that way, WAY too many people seem to think that the actual unironic endgame of any given story is that their favorite pairing holds hands and walks into the sunset, all the other parts of the narrative be damned.
