Yes, there will always be some exceptions, but it is known even among Japanese publishers that school settings trigger heightened scrutiny from Steam.

I don't doubt that Marvelous is pozzed, but the bigger problem is that same mentality now runs through all the major retail video game storefronts. The same policies that saw Burst ReNewal censored and 7Even buried are now in place virtually everywhere and intensifying. Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Steam, even GOG, all of them forbid games like Senran Kagura now. Takaki was right when he said this would not stay contained to Playstation. Even if Marvelous themselves weren't pozzed, there's little they can do about this. They don't have the clout to bend any of these major corporations to make them allow these games.

Even if I did just that, it wouldn't change that the environment has become hostile to the development of any new games like these. Inti Creates isn't making a new Gal*Gun, Compile Heart dropped all the ecchi from their games, GUST only makes the lamest, most "safe horny" garbage now, Aquaplus are literally dying, etc, etc. Are you telling me I'm just supposed to not care about all that?

Nope, not really. It is virtually impossible to make games like these any more because they just get blocked from the market by platform holders. Do something about them and then this series and others like it might come back.

Shift Up isn't dealing in anything like Senran Kagura and you're delusional if you think Stellar Blade is remotely comparable.

Gal*Gun is dead too, for the same reasons Senran Kagura is; no major platform will host it.
