I grew up in a poor family, my dad left my mom with 4 kids and never having a job.
We got a huge block of velveeta type cheese and a bunch of frozen juice concentrate and some bread, peanut butter and some other crap plus a bunch of used, out of style clothes that I had to wear. I got laughed at in 3rd grade for showing up in a Hawaiian shirt and another time for wearing a shirt that said I love California when I'd never been there
