Is it me or have we hit the point of mythologizing the sonic franchise? I mean, we argue about the interpretations of character and why the "creators" meant when they were created? I get that pop culture is the modern mythos but don't you think we're talking things a tad to seriously?

It's a problem but at the same time, not really. IDW Sonic really does fucking suck at times but at the same time, its a licensed tie-in comic. Most of those are trash. Archie Sonic, same thing.

On one end, you have people expecting too much, on the other end, IDW Sonic is mediocre. I stand on the side of low expectations knowing that there is no chance IDW is going to pump in the money needed to get actual talent on the book but also not shitting on it at every turn.

To put things in perspective, there are TWO licensed comic books that are real bangers right now: Transformers and Space Ghost. Every other book is straight trash. Even Captain Planet despite having the same writer as Space Ghost.
