The lore in evangelion is mostly for show and underdeveloped, because it's all about Shinji being a fuckup, that's why they bring all that shit about the at field being like a barrier that separates individuals. Which brings kojimbo's statement about DE being about roads to connect people, relationships and all that crap. That's also inspired by eva by the looks of it. All good about getting inspiration from other works but when you can identify immediately where it comes from it starts to feel like a fucking ripoff.
