Because the monument is a completed art piece, made with the attitudes and inspiration at that time and even had to end up being completed by the original artist's son after the guy passed away. He had no intention of other presidents or figures being later added, though he DID say he chose the mountain for the potential for someone to make their OWN art using the other rock formations which would also be visible from the same area more or less.
T-money can have his own carving close by on the same ridge, I'd be fine with that.
What I WON'T be fine with is as soon as his face gets approved to go up there, THEN we will be FORCED to also have an obama one, an mlk one, a hariet tubman one, a Lizzo one, fuckin yakub one and fucking on and on and on and they WILL riot and kill and bitch to the point of destrying the whole mountain unless obama and mlk are carved right next to IF NOT OVER the original four's faces.
tl;dr I say Trump deserves it but I do not want more groid monuments being demanded defacing established monuments out of spite just because he gets put up there too
