You're not supposed to stay in parry stance forever, just defensively in combos so when other characters would dodge you parry and your "dodge", a deflect, does more than just keeping you safe, you swap back immediately and back to pumping. Doing all of these does take more skill but that's fine, it's also more fun and you're living up to the character's fantasy
