it only activates if everyone goes down meaning that whoever has it, needs to be capable of reviving others even at 3 bars which as guardian you can do easily, as recluse, I might as well try to solo the boss rather than try and bring 2 people at 3 bars back

And thanks for the carry on Fulghor, I couldn't really do my usual strategy of holding my shield and blocking. That Guardian thing of moving while blocking to send back damage sounds like a trap, the return is shit.

But I'm glad I got to see Gaping Dragon and Nameless King, first time I saw them.

The thing about Recluse that makes her one of the if not the best character in the game is that you don't really have to pray to RNG as hard as the other characters. Raiding the mage castles where theres a chest with 2 guaranteed staff drops has consistently given me some of the best spells in the game. Strapped for time? Don't even kill the boss, just go grab the staff chest and see what you got. Other characters have to worry about if the boss drop is a purple greatsword or whatever, recluse doesn't have to worry about that stuff as much because she gets the most catered drops in the game. There's so many staff chests too and even some spirit spring skips to reach them quickly. Recluses item economy is just god(dess) tier.

Guardian is... weird.
I love him because birdman + halberd, but he's in a weird spot where he's worse at using halberds than Wylder, and he has a lot of bonuses when using shields, but as you can equip, you cannot really block the nightlords, even if you raise your shields and pick all the stamina boons, you're still left short, and they can bypass your defenses, since there are few nightlords that deal purely physical attacks.
And the guardian's main shortcomings are:
- no damage skills (and little damage in general)
- absolutely awful dodge. The Guardian doesn't have roll, it's more like the Bloodborne's Hunter side step, except it's even shorter. It's an atrocious bitch to time correctly against Splithead.

I keep playing him because his drop makes everyone in range invincible and I arranged it to also heal, but as you saw with Raider, the range is pretty short.

Guard counter relic helps him a lot with damage
Extended ability duration is a MUST for Crowd control (turns that whimsy fart into a 10 hit tornado and can help with revives)
You can opt in and out of the guard stance skill pretty fast so you can keep blocking the enemy for an extended duration
Playing him I never assume I'm going to deal damage, I'm the guy who comes in clutch with revives and keeping the boss busy

Executor sucks and I'm sick of people pretending he isn't one of the weakest characters in the game barring revenant.

In any other game the parry mechanic would be fine but it makes 0 sense in this game where you have a time limit to kill shit as fast as possible, you are fighting 2 other teammates for aggro to even start using it effectively beyond large aoes or swipes, you have to enter and exit a clunky stance to do it and you give up your status aliments when you're in it which is like the entire point of the character. And nothing feels worse than an enemy throwing out a one off attack, you using the parry from entering stance then having to awkwardly sheath your weapon right after to keep fighting.

The ult is nice but the parry and passive are both utter dogshit. The only time I ever actually enjoy parrying is on night bosses while playing solo when I have constant aggro and there is no longer a time limit. Yeah, S/S dex/arc is nice but that's literally all he's got and when you actually start looking into the values they're not as amazing as you think they are since arc is just completely static. At this point I'd rather just play melee ironeye with a status weapon. Fucking piece of shit character.

Based on my experience there is a good chance is will proc poison but it depends on the boss. Most get procced by it. I always carry a poison bow starter weapon and make sure it's proc'd.

here is a rough very efficient pathing with literally no modifiers on the map
get to level 5 ASAP through points of interest. clearing evergaols and the non scary field bosses helps expediate this even further.
go to the castle and clear as many of the minibosses as you can until night forces you off
come back day 2 and 100% clear the castle.
after clearing the castle, run to the formidable bosses around the entire map and just wipe them all out one by one.

We don't really have issues with routing or levels, we usually finish day 1 at level 7 and day 2 anywhere between 10 and 12. It's just that we simply deal no damage. Today we kept getting Battlefield Commander as the night 2 boss, and we never managed to kill it as our damage was too low and his summons kept on one or two shotting us while we barely did any damage.

great bows on raider deal tons of damage, you can actually keep up with an ironeye in terms of damage, and flat out outscale them if you get Radahn's bow

Also rain of arrows isn't something you just spam whenever, you use it when the boss is large and occasionally stationary and time it properly, like say, on the bug after it finishes it's charge attack or on maris when it does it's sleep attack

At first i thought these were god tier but they really aren't. at the end of an average run i'm 200k over level 15 anyway so the rune buffs are useless outside of sneaking in an extra level in early game and skill cooldown is way overkill when you have a +1 charge. I wish I could get some ult charge instead. Maybe I should just get rid of the earing entirely and try to get a relic with just wylder ult spreads fire and some other rolls.
