I'm glad Nintendo moved on from lock and key formulaic game design and back to the original experience of Zelda.

Botw and Totk were a much needed return to form, you would know that if you experienced them in their day.

Dungeons are a sacred cow in this franchise that need not return. Newer fans have become royally obsessed with their inclusion and miss the forest for the trees. Zelda from its roots is a game about exploration and secrets. I wont argue that the likes of Snowpeak and Arbiter Ground aren't awesome, but I will absolutely argue that they're not obligated to be in a Zelda game. The more you cling to the recent past the more you delude yourself. You mention atmosphere and identity, yet you seemingly only see it so inside a dungeon. Foolhardy. Breath of the Wild's entire appeal is sense of place, the entire game world is majestic. Prior games did a good job at disguising these "localized obstacles and objectives", but that is not what will set you free, that is not what will allow you to let go and experience freedom. There's a huge world to explore, and there's no reason for much if anything to get in the way of that.
