Why did they do it bros?
They won, unequivocally. Would Britain have been a tough nut to crack? Sure, but given time I doubt they would have lasted forever unless the USA stepped in sooner. Were the governments in exile and the rest of the Allied forces (British Dominions) still a problem? Yes, but not as imminently threatening. But the entirety of Western, Central, and Northern Europe was under Axis or neutral (Axis friendly) control. The Soviets would have chimped out eventually, but are we really to believe that the Soviet Union in an offensive campaign would have been able to capitulate the Axis countries? Germany with the British Isles no longer an issue, Italy with Northern Africa firmly secured (and a more well prepared army) and no USA lend lease? Most importantly, the Soviets would be fighting offensively against Axis forces which had not just been brutalized from Operation Barbarossa.
They had their NWO, their lebensraum, but instead of playing the long game and rebuilding their new empire, they tried to cheese the system and lost it all. Was the high of victory really that much that you would open a two front war against the two largest empires at the time instead of cementing your gains and finishing off the strongest rival power to you? Was Hitler secretly dying and just wanted to see it through to the end?
>Germany was based and trad
>Soviet Union was based and trad
They should've ruled Eurasia together instead of fighting the biggest war of all time.
