The actual men lost in the salient doesn't seem like much, as they were sending out men in groups of 3-4 each time. But the deeper problem is that this shows that even if Russia finds holes in their defenses, they won't be able to properly exploit it with anything meaningful, and the men will be left to die. What then? What do they do? Even if they "win" they fail.

It's looking more and more hopeless for Russia in this conflict. I fully expect 1 more year of ifghting until an actual stalemate of Russia not moving a single inch anymore.
