This decay is exemplified in publicly traded companies. Since Ford vs. Dodge Brothers (look up the original Dodge logo, very interesting star in there) set the legal precedent that publicly traded companies are legally obligated ONLY to making money for shareholders and NOTHING ELSE (Ford wanted to raise wages), you get an endless fall to the worst possible quality of product and the scammiest fucking tactics to make money and exploit people every single fucking time.
For instance, the price of a bottle of coke used to be a nickle. It was a nickle for SEVENTY FUCKING YEARS. It used to be a big glass bottle, now you pay two dollars for a smaller bottle made of recycled plastic with the wrapper falling off.... look at what happened to Duolingo. Look at the produce of every single publicly traded company after they go public. It always ends up as garbage served to you by slaves.
Look up the original Dodge Brothers logo. You won't be shocked.
