I partially agree, educated friend. The vitriolic hatred, the death threats, and the humiliating memes might have gone too far, buy, we disagree on fundamental levels and let's not also forget that progressives have also engaged in personal attacks.
This might be the missing piece in your puzzle, you won't get a person to be interested in your worldview if you're just insulting them. Things that happen in their personal lives could nurture seeds you've planted, but this is much less likely if the seeds were planted poorly. Political statements are contentious on their own and the reasons to escalate this by peppering them with insults is dubious. It's true that people might be more engaged if there's more rage, but this gets dangerous and it isn't good for anybody's mental health. The old have some power in influencing the young and I think our efforts would be better served keeping our side of the street clear of hostility while trying to convince others to the correctness of our beliefs. When you consider the sacrifice one man can make and how much influence he has on society from it this is the best way humanity can be served by nobodies like us.
