In fairness, I think they handled her really well in '95. Especially from a relationship angle.
I'm sure that sort of awkward queer flirting and false bravado is relatable to a good chunk of /lisg/. So much so that I'm convinced that most if not all of her relationship dialogue on her was written by actual queer people that were once awkward, horny queer teenagers themselves.
