Lorefaggotry ruined cartoons. I say this as a lorefag. Gags no longer are gags. No, there has to be something more to it than the fact that gags are vital to the spirit of cartoons than most headass "I wanna be a screenwriter for Netflix!" and "I wanna produce a movie!" fags will ever allow themselves to admit.
Cartoons are political. Always have been. You were too young to know or notice. That said, right wing cartoons have just as much of a right to exist as left wing cartoons. Adult cartoons that titillate and thrive on sex appeal have as much of a right to exist as cartoons that are exclusively for children.
"Beanmouth" and "Calarts style" is nothing, the actual issue is that animation requires things to be as simplified and easy to animate as possible because the industry at large disproportionately punishes anything that isn't being made at a breakneck pace. People will claim they prefer that style to cope, when in all actuality most animators would be fine making complex designs and working with them if they were actually both paid well enough, given long enough of a window to actually do their job without crunching the motherfuck out of everyone, and didn't outsource all the busywork to SEA for pennies to the hundred dollar bill.
Flash is perfectly fine for an animation tool, garbage shows will be garbage shows, improper use of tweening will always be improper use of tweening, etc.
Cartoons and animations will be made by indies using LLMs and Image Generation Tools (I refuse to call that shit AI, it is not fucking AI), and they are not the god damned enemy. Corporations are. SAG-AFTRA has proven corporations can and will poison unions beyond the point of parody. Corpos are your enemy, not god damned photoshop. If you didn't want your art to be used as training without your permission, you shouldn't share it on a public fucking access network.
