You are me like 5 years ago. I'm still pissed that I can only find a ton of 22s with either dovetail and good features or picatinny and shit features. I love the look of dovetail but NO ONE will make a good set of fucking rings (IIRC Leupold might not even offer dovetail in 1" tube). On my CZ I'm going to have to buy an EGW 0 MOA clamp on pic rail to adapt dovetail to pic. If stupid-ass ring manufacturers would adopt the air rifle recoil pin stop it'd solve any issues anyone would have with dovetail, but instead we're stuck with whatever retarded market we have now where I'm not happy either way I get my gun. Ironically I bought myself a nice Ruger 10/22 50/50 because semi-weird export model and factory dovetail rail...only to take it off for a modern pic rail. I'm still using dovetail on my other vintage 22s, though, but no one seems to want to make any modern dovetail rings under a brand I'd trust; you have to go to air rifle brands I may or may not have heard of yet and trust people online about its quality. I've pretty much given up and accepted picatinny for my hunting rifles just so I can have known quality rings/scopes, aesthetics be damned. That being said a Scopechief 22 on a vintage (or vintage looking) 22 with dovetail milled into the receiver is just about the sexiest fucking look a 22 can have short of a vintage blued Weaver or a really old 20s/30s long blued steel scope (~18"+?).

I doubt it. According to an old post of mine the anniversary sporters are cheaper than regular sporters were in Fall 2023 when they were (according to my probably rounded quick gun.deals price search at the time) about $400+tax; not sure if that includes shipping.

NTA, just trying to add to the discussion.
My Sporter is an old odd 90s export model but if yours is anything like mine it's well worth it IMO as well, especially if you or anon above don't already own a 10/22. I have a more tactical 10/22 with more or less everything I ever wanted on it both aesthetically and pratically for hunting, but I bought this as well to have something a little simpler and more traditional looking, though it is also silenced as it would've been in Britain. It is long as fuck, though, especially having to put a 1/2x20 to 1/2x28 adapter on the thing. But also being able to potentially bring a friend to the range and have a silenced range day or silenced hunting trip as well as have a backup silenced 22 for hunting? 100% worth it.
