Anon, we've had 3D shooter platformers for almost 30 years in various degrees. There's no small number of ways that Mega Man can step up to the plate, whether it be getting inspired by things like Ratchet & Clank, or more shooter focused with mobility like Lost Planet, or whatever the fuck. X7 scared them so shitless in how poorly it was handled and received that it functionally shitcanned all 3D in Mega Man from being tried again, and that isn't really fair when Legends 2 had been starting to get something decent down.
