I really wanted to like this game. But it just didn't click with me. The combat was aggressively boring.
And the characters are just so uninteresting. They are literally only there to try and drive the plot forward, but the plot itself is very convoluted for no reasons whatsoever. They specifically speak in vague terms just to avoid spoiling too much of the story too early. When just talking normally would have resolved the plot much quicker.
That and the whole "painters vs writers" subplot was the entire driving force between the inter-family drama. And that wasn't explained in the slightest. Clearly just blatant squeal bait.
