Death Stranding 1 actually had difficult gameplay when BTs were around. You could risk your entire cargo and BTs destroying a huge area with structures you had put up.
Mules going necro, destroying an area, and creating a BT field right through your trade-routes was also a possibility.
In DS2 they've neutered that completely. BTs aren't even a risk and rarely show up.
Kojima made it more like a 3rd person shooter than a weird ass delivery sim.

Dying Light The Beast - Will probably just be ok at best
MGS3 Delta - Is effectively just a remaster like the Oblivion one earlier this year so shouldn’t get any awards as its not a remake like Resident Evil does or Silent Hill 2 Remake was last year
Hell is Us - Maybe it could end up being kino but I dont see it getting goty
Cronos the new dawn - Another one that might end up being kino but I still cant see it getting any awards
Borderlands 4 - At beast I see it only getting something like best online or best shooter or something but not goty
Silent Hill F - I cant see it winning any awards at all. Even if the story is good it wont win out over the story in Ex33.
Vampire Bloodlines 2 - This is clearly going to end up being turbo jank. Might be somewhat fun but certainly wont get any awards.
Ghost of Yotei - This maybe could win goty as the media love the sony movie games and they will want to own the chuds who complain about the female protagonist
Outworlds 2 - Will be mid or just ok. Wont win any awards.
Crimson Desert - This maybe has some possibility of begin received positively but I get the impression it will be critiqued for being bloated
Metroid Prime 4 - I think it will be alright but worse than all the previous Prime games and will review fine but wont get any awards or anything.

The only games that really have a chance are:

She has her entire life outside of the Canvas factored in as well, and her knowledge that none of the inhabitants of the Canvas are real to her. She still cares about them and thinks they matter, but it's very clear after that point that she knows she's a "higher being" compared to the rest of them. As you said, perspective. Between the rest of the industry they are the underdog, but not because the lack of resources, which is what I was arguing about and the perseption that the circumstances around the games creation where a miracle. But yeah, I guess they are an underdog in the game industry, for now.

He is 100% right in what he wants, and everything he does trying to achieve that is 100% wrong. Literally every action of his in the story is eventually recontextualized to be manipulative, treacherous, or just downright evil. It's the opposite to Maelle who does good things and benefits many with her choices, but wants those things for the complete wrong reasons.

The only thing the game has going for it is the visuals.
The story, characters, and even combat were awful.
