If you check the Coronswet Superman movie on fan sites (for fan art, fan fic, fan theories), more people are shipping HoultLex with Coronsupes than anything else - after that it's self-inserts with David, even though he's happily married, or with Clark, even though he's clearly happy with movie Lois.

Also, Hoult is charismatic and attractive enough, in the same way Rosenbaum was on Smallville. Jon Cryer Lex or Kevin Spacey Lex would never get that option. Hackman Lex would only get it for the LOLZ.
