i know it gets brought up a lot (especially when these threads had more traction) but mikame's stiff posing and resistance to ever draw non-human characters that aren't carbuncle, ecolo, suketoudara and ocean prince whenever they decide to put him in a game kind of makes everyone feel really samey, especially when every game post 20th have most of the cast be glued in (which at this point includes a decent chunk of compile, all of 7's cast because why flesh out suzuran when ringo has the funny idol voice, the few fever cast remaining and for some reason ally because apparently her being from a fucking book barely matters anymore).
puzzle pop being mostly reused models from chronicles sucks but i actually don't mind the textures enough that i'm kind of hoping, if they actually put effort into making new models and animations, the style keeps up the baby show on youtube seems to be going this direction especially with a higher poly suketoudara but it's just as likely that it's just because puzzle pop is the most recent title.
nothing beats the compile styles but i accept that aside from madou fia it's never returning.

it's a slightly different team each game but around 7 akira mikame is basically the main art guy. i think his posing is a bit stiff in comparison to the pre tetris games but it still has a charm to it.

>Music and visuals suck
the first game's music is fine but visuals i agree with since sega's style has been getting more and more stiff ever since 20th but i still think it's a decent tetris game i like 2 too but at that point and even to this day sega is obviously dickriding tetris so puyo can have any staying power over here despite the two sereis not meshing well together at all.

>but considering they've stuck with their style since fever 1
The current style isn't Fever 1 or even 2's at all. Fever 1/2 were way more dynamic and varied, especially in terms of character build and proportions.

Unfortunately, Hideyuki Takenami is in the clutches of Konami now, and Shoko Ninomiya is too busy being a twitter fujoshi.
