Because it ruins the unwritten contract of a vtubing idol. They dedicate their time on stream to us and spend it with us, allowing us some cozy escapism without reminding us of the dreary real life shit out there (their partners, their religious beliefs, their opinions on politics, etc.) and in exchange we are here for them, cheering them on, watching them, giving them money, going to their concerts and cons.
It's a symbiotic relationship, they benefit from us and we benefit from them, because we get a few hours of happiness.
By announcing this as Nimi Nightmare the vtuber she made it officially part of her lore and on topic, it's not even some sekrit rm knowledge that is taboo to mention.
And that is what a lot of people simply do not want out of their vtubing, can you fault them for that? There are many other vtubers who will not do this, so they can just move on and watch those instead if Nimi fails to provide what they want.
