>>101532377You have a point, but we already did literally *all* of those things once upon a time to become an industrial powerhouse in the first place. And the alternative is maintaining brittle international supply chains which are reliant upon foreign states which view us as rivals, not to mention sending our children to die in the Middle East for Israel "oil and the petrodollar" - which, I assure you, Americans want way, waaaay less than they want to start their own factories, or to have the chance to work on our own farms for reasonable wages, etc.
My old man actually picked apples on a local farm in Steinbeck country one summer, when he was a teenager. Not because he had to, but just to earn some pocket money back in the 80s. This, despite his father being an extremely wealthy surgeon. The taconiggers all called him "el loco gringo"... lmao. That isn't possible anymore, but I yearn for the day that it becomes not only possible, but normal again. And if the electoral cycles of liberal democratic institutions makes the long-term planning necessary to make that into a reality impossible, then I say abolish the republic and the constitution entirely and install fucking Barron as absolute ethno-monarch. I'm not joking.
