They should be their own thing, like Orcs having nothing to do with blacks.
Preferably, goblins should be a tribal and female only species.
When a goblin comes of age, she leaves her tribe to find a mate, with whom she'll spend the rest of her life with.
Offspring wise, if the child is a female it'll be a goblin, if it's a male it'll be whatever the species of the dad is.
