Tell him to play Star Fox Adventures, now that is a game with truly little to no foreshadowing to the real villain twist.
It's only foreshadowing being cheat tokens and pic related cutscene where retroactively Krazoa God Andross is telling you to get the spirits to revive him.

Yeah, that's probably one of the reasons they made Andross be the Krazoa God aside from needing more Star Fox stuff in the game. The Krazoa were alright, pretty evil, Scales was already gonna get betrayed by Drakor, and Andross was the villain of 2 (3 behind closed doors) Star Fox games at that point. So in the end, that's how things ended up.
