Check'd. Not that anon, but I really like this question. I'd like for Peter to continue being a high school professor for a while longer until maybe MJ gets pregnant and then he has to get a new job for a larger lab or company as a researcher or technician. During which he could pursue a PhD where he gets it and then could work as a college professor. I feel like that could be an open-ended enough postion for Peter to encounter a new generation of characters, have some flesibility in how he can duck out and become Spider-Man, and make enough money to sustain his family beyond relying on MJ's profession.
That and you can do the Spectacular cartoon type bookending where Peter teaches and learns lessons to his students and from his students. Maybe at point Mayday is his student if the timeline matches up.
