Which means none of them are and almost nothing can be referenced from the previous game in a way that isn't the most vague bullshit. That can be fine if it's supposed to take place somewhere or sometime where those events are barely remembered or heard of, though.
But of course then you run the risk of absolute dogshit runs being canon like BG3 with Sarevok relapsing into incest and Viconia remaining completely unchanged. (Being a Pally and cuddling the Neutral Evil out of her is the best thing in BG2)
