Star Wars, after the initial trilogy, was set up in a massive potential develop galaxy full of stories, but everything went back to rehashing the Sith, or some galactic threat. You don't need to have pluck heros saving the galaxy from the bad guys at this point, you could have dozens or hundreds of stories at smaller scale which are just as meaningful and full of drama, action, love, tragedy, humor and conflict.

But no, we have to have our same plucky heros save the galaxy from a threat, again. Because they did that before, so that's what we want because we're all fucking stupid ass brainlets.

Jedi Academy is my favorite of the "trilogy", but Jedi Outcast holds a special place in my heart. I remember picking it up from Babbages without a clear understanding of what kind of game it was. I was expecting something kind of basic so I was fucking floored when I realized what I actually got. It took me way too fucking long to get past the Kejim part, but now I legit speedrun it. That game is pure pazak.
