Leftism is naturally attractive to high-IQ losers. Your local MENSA chapter is absolutely full of very intelligent, highly verbally skilled, people who are either unemployed or work for people a lot dumber than them, and are absolutely seething about this clear inversion of the correct order of the Universe

This is because high-IQ people are uniquely vulnerable to the life-destroying delusion that they know everything about everything, and so they never learn the actual skills that success depends on. They're usually further crippled by an early school experience in which they never have to learn any work or study habits because they instantly grasp all the simple concepts that average/dumb kids have to expend effort to learn, so you're basically producing legal adults who have never learned how to learn, or how to apply consistent focused effort on anything that doesn't inherently interest them, or the rules of social structures and engagements that are about 80% of success. These people then go out in the world and get absolutely smashed by life, suddenly finding themselves badly losing competition with people who are dumber than them but have a decade-plus more experience in the actual methods of life success

Since they lack the humility and grace to realize they're the problem, they are of course going to love any system of thought created by other high-IQ losers, such as Marxism, that tells them that the actual problem is literally everything else about human society and not just that they're a lazy smartass who needs to grow up
