That's actually the simple thing I like about Andross, the guy really is high on his own fumes and will gladly due everything in-house to prove his own superiority against Star Fox and General Pepper. Speaking of which, wish they would explain that feud between the two, since that was one of the more interesting bits from Command.

Katt has been in Star Fox games since 64 and she's not a pink fox, she's a pink cat. Zero is actually the only Star Fox game with no new characters added, unless you count Direct-I and Slippy's grandpa, who's only in the spin-off game Star Fox Guard.
