Our earliest ancestors wouldn't have been able to hunt big-game to exhaustion and bring it back to their village to eat without cooperation. They wouldn't have been able to survive being mauled by a desperate last-act of their prey, like getting a broken leg, a huge gash on their limbs or torso, or simply being cared after once someone became ill and couldn't do the basic necessities like getting water or food.
That advantage has stayed with us throughout the millennia. It is, for every intent and purpose, the shining pinnacle of our species that has kept us alive and well throughout every catastrophe that has befallen this planet since our inception.
To throw all of that away and literally prey on our weaker compatriots on the simple and shortsighted view of "Im better than you" goes so far against the grain of what made us what we are that it becomes a threat to the entirety of our race. Barring sociological, ethical, and philosophical objections here, it's simply a fucking retarded mentality that verges on Mutually Assured Destruction. The whole can not survive without its constituents, nor can the individual survive without it, regardless of the infinite strength afforded to them through technology.
