US has a slight edge with fighters right now but what it will really come down to whether america is willing to lose many thousands of pilots.
the answer is yes, as long as we have an alamo, lusitania, pearl harbor or 9/11 to give us the old unquenchable genocidal wrath everyone seems to forget lurks under the surface. if it's just "save taiwan" whining without a serious punch to the face of americans first then we won't commit.
