I never played the original so I don't have a bias either way. I got to play Demon's Souls Remake for free and I thought it was awesome. It was harder than I expected it to be, being a Souls veteran. People told me this game was piss easy. And true, maybe the bosses are easier (I 1-shotted almost all of them), but the areas are much harder than in later souls game. Real gauntlets of death. The bonfires are spread so far and so few between. It's interesting that in later games, it's the bosses that became "the hard parts" and the levels can almost be casually explored. Regardless, it's cool to see where Souls began.
