I borrowed my brother's PS3 to play demon's souls because I kept seeing the general threads on /v/ and I fucking loved it, and then got to buy dark souls on the midnight release.
I love all the games but the music is absolutely getting worse the longer it goes on though. Dark Souls had such a better soundtrack vs 2, 3, or Elden Ring

I never get the Demon's Souls praise... it just screams '35 year old nostalgiafag boomercope' to me, like how millennials think Brosnan is the best Bond because they simply grew up with him in the role. >Worst boss fights in the series >Worst level design in the series (archstones are a lazy and boring concept) >Least amount of content in the series, there are like 8 zones total in the game. >The original has aged the worst in the series (besides DS2).

Immersive? You literally teleport from level to level, there is no fluidity in the gameplay loop, unlike any of the other games.
And don't say some bullshit like 'but it's the most grounded and RAW experience' when DS1 does all of that but better.

No they are not. DS2 and BB are using Demon's as a base and just focus on combat just like all the other action games.

This is a problem with all Souls games as they all have fast travel. At least the DeS levels are immersive. >when DS1 does all of that but better
DS1 is way less grounded and high fantasy. DeS on the other hand is focused on making its world feel believable which also makes its fantastical parts like the Nexus stand out more.

Everything almost as good as demon souls with the whole "Bed of chaos" area being rushed lowering the score on aura but the game play was way better.

Its good and has its on unique aura but is also straight up nostalgia bait it has the most polished combat of the dark souls games but don't expect to see much here in terms of "New"

Has a lot of problems present in open world games a lot of the world is emptiness and when you are making multiple builds its gets really annoying collecting shit with hours upon hours lost to long horse rides. But if you only have one file this is less of an issue also when you have a big open world like this and the only way you can interact with things is through violence it becomes less interesting like why even do open world?
Combat is polished but we never really get to the level of bloodborne again the dlc is a huge power creep with weird as shit scaling.
Good series one of the best ever made but i miss bloodborne alot.
