I'm the other KLX guy in question, so I guess that makes 3 of us looking at the same trade.
The 390 is cool but a twin makes way more sense for me - as I've often mentioned I really need to cruise comfortably at 80 - and I have a hell of a lot more faith that the Kawi won't leave me stranded in the middle of nowhere.

Honestly better range than I expected, but you'd need a lot of solar for that and you're still dealing with speed issues and long charge times if you want to go further.
My bike definitely cost more, about twice as much plus registration and insurance (which are dirt cheap compared to a car though, insurance is $199 a year for full coverage) but it can go on the freeway, go places you could never take an electric bike with an 80mi range, having registration and insurance means I'm not totally fucked if it gets stolen, and it makes fun vroom vroom noises that chicks apparently dig. All worth it to me.

Finally managed to get time and weather to take the bike out for the first time in almost 3 weeks. Pretty sick ride too, awesome twisty road up to the place where I took the pic. Bike is also finally ready for its first oil change, can't wait to be able to use all the revs all the time.
