This is just what christians say to recruit new christians. Their lives are terrible so they start thinking god has a plan for them and then they think they can have visions, talk in tongues, perform miracles etc. Its all psychologically disturbing really. My advice to you is to stay away from religions in general. There might be God but I am sure as shit not gonna be standing next to idiots in a church who cant even agree on the interpretation of a bible and I dont think the creator would care to be worshipped in any way.
