The most conservative states in Mexico tend to be the Northern backwater Spanish ranchero states. Akin to the republican white trash of the south in the US. The most liberal states are in central and southern Mexico. I think it’s because the Indios were legitimately oppressed by the ruling class, unlike white liberals in America that larp as victims. Indios in Mexico have been fighting for workers rights for centuries now. Industrious “whites” behave more like Jews and prioritize their own wealth, which tends to make them align with conservatism
