Regarding older WASRs with shit QC, absolutely happened. It was a big deal during the Obama years and going into the 1st Trump presidency (people worrying about Hilary getting in instead). Century reached out to Cugir about hastening production time to get more rifles into the US before any AWB or import ban. Cugir did this but at the cost of QC.
