Is there a Fallout game with good writing? I've tried the first two and New Vegas but was let down considerably.
The dialogue in Fallout 2 is cheeks. Why do people praise the original games again?

Not necessarily, but even still you have options and choices to make. You don't have to engage with characters, you can even kill all of them with no limitations. You don't need sarcastic and witty dialogue options like Fallout 2 presented.
