would anyone happen to have any experience with chinese brand integrated handlebars? I know finnbert recently had that chinese aero build but what's the meta chinese brand/store to order stuff like that from?
>>149259900Are you unfamiliar with the concept of Babies, they tend to be smaller than us
What chinese carbon (aero) bike should I buy while visiting China? I wanted to go for the van Rysel RCR-F but may as well get them at the source.
Why can i keep up with my fastest cycling mates when its going<40km/h uphill, in the wind etc, but as soon as there is a tailwind and we go 40km/h + for 10 mins i start having a real difficult time. They push fewer watts during those 10 mins in tailwind than before but i have to push much more watts it seems than uphill, in the wind etc.

It can also come down to the gearing

Ehh I'd wear it.
>>149273056I think him losing 2 minutes to Almeida in the mountain TT last year is holding his odds back.
Also, tomorrow is hard. That finish isn't just the 4.5km climb they do before. There are 2.5km after that that are almost equally steep. In total it's 7km at 9+%, that's kinda brutal.
I saw a guy in a full jayco-allula kit today in Pennsylvania

>>149276088sadly kind of yes, bibi played brandon like a marionette and seems to be outmaneuvering the new geriatric in chief. At least there is still some separation of intel between them. But at this rate they'll be occupying the white house like they do with half the arabs
Thinking about making a fantasy Tour route, I want to see if I can make a good one while addressing the main problem I find with the Tour routes, the fact that it's always the same climbs
So, let's do a list of 20 climbs I cannot use:
-Tourmalet
-Aspin
-Peyresourde
-PDBF
-Galibier
-Hautacam
-Mur de Bretagne
-Alpe d'Huez
-Col de la Loze
-Mt.Ventoux
-Croix de Fer
-Aubisque
-Tรฉlรฉgraphe
-Colmiane
-Colombiรจre
-Cormet de Roselend
-Portet-d'Aspet
-Ballon d'Alsace
-Grand Colombier
-Couillole
Makes sense? Anything you will remove? Anything you will add?
how funny will it be when /elite/ pulling full gas drops the whole visma squad and memco?
>>149277048Seems pretty ambitious I dont think you missed anything other than maybe Chateaufort?
>>149277048-Madeleine
-d'Izoard
-de Mentรฉ
-Aravis
depends on how selective you want to be I suppose, and recency would play a large part. Mur de Bretagne has only been used 9 times but earliest 1993, Puy De Dome of course wasn't used for 40 yrs but has 15 total ascents in the tdf.
I'd be really interested in seeing what high mountain stages you can make without the iconic climbs, could be fun and challenging.
>>149277246>>149277374Or I just use this list for the top 20
https://www.procyclingstats.com/race/tour-de-france/route/climbs
We return to /WORLD TOUR WINE/ with our last stage race before the Tour de France!! This race will be a tune-up before the big race, for both the riders as well as the staff at /WTW/ offices.
It is with apprehension that we return to Switzerland in the Tour de Suisse. The Tour of Romandie narrowly edged out the Tour Down Under for the worst wines I have had this year so I am bracing myself for some very mediocre overpriced wine. I have not made much of an effort to find wines from directly on the route, to be honest.
Schenck "L'Alpage" Chasselas 2021 ($25)
This is our second Chasselas of the year, after an extremely flabby effort from Maison Gilliard. This is from Vaud, on the north shore of Lac Leman. This has to be one of the most picturesque appellations on earth, with steep, south-facing vines perched over a gorgeous alpine lake. To the north is the Jura Mountains and the French Alps south across the lake. The vast majority of the wine grown in this region is Chasselas, a common alpine white grape.
This pours a pale straw with tinge of gold. The nose has melon, lemon zest, light butter, some mint. The palate opens with melon and then lifts with a little crunchy acidity and has a buttery finish, but body is only medium, it is not oily.
This is a great improvement from the horror from Romandie but is a simple, pleasant wine. Seems like the sort of thing you would pay $15 for while eating raclette.
(posted somewhat delayed for reasons that I cannot mention)
>>149277048jesus, I initially misread your post and thought you said "this is the list of the 20 climbs I will use" and I was like "total peloton death" (aside from VPP and Pogi)
>>149277048>it's always the same climbsthat's a good thing

>>149278872Yeah, classic 3 stages, probably somewhere in the atlantic coast because I plan to go pyrenees first week

>>149278058what an aesthetic wine
>>149280110Yes the art on the label is fine but the wine is just ok.
My next bottle has hilariously flat "art" on the label, but I'm hoping it's much better
>>149277664yeah, I think it's a good one, just double check if none of them havent been used recently like the other Bert said, say 20 years. If they haven't then I'd say it's fair game and move one lower in the lis6

>A UCI memo, first reported by Daniel Benson, suggests that, come August, the UCI will begin trials of gear limits on competition bicycles for road races. Time trials, for now, are exempt, as it appears the UCI is focusing on mass start rider safety.
>The trial rules appear to base the restrictions around a specific maximum number of โmeters of developmentโ, a numerical figure for how hard a gear is, rather than on a specific gear ratio of chainring X sprocket. The trouble is that the UCI has based its new rule around an increasingly outdated tyre size - 28mm - meaning that modern setups with tyres of 30mm in width or more could technically fall foul of the new regulations.
>Furthermore, the new rules will impact SRAM-sponsored riders disproportionately, and will mean the 10t sprocket on their cassettes may have to be mechanically nullified by the mechanics, and the proliferation of wide range 1x setups such as we saw so often at the Spring Classics would also come to an abrupt end.
>>149285949I mean they were never any good that they could get a cycling career, it was more like club riders that occasionally got to ride a race in their 20s that was a low level UCI race
But it's kind of fun when you go through the results and you see that one rode against an early Boonen and Frank Schleck and some guys like that, ... kind of fun to have that on the record somewhere. I played football in my younger years and I played with some guys that made it big later or were on the downward trail but there's no evidence of that anywhere :(

>>149291394I wear barefoot shoes (wide toe box, flexible, minimal sole) much of the time, I cannot recommend them enough for comfort. Although, as a warning, it's possible your feet will stretch enough so that none of your current shoes fit. In my younger days I did XC and TnF, and after some difficulties with patellar tendonitis I switched to only barefoot shoes except for spikes in competition. You will eventually toughen your soles and calves enough to support running. I've actually recently gotten back into running, albeit in regular running shoes, and am just recovering from a severe sprain complicated by a small fracture. In part, I blame the higher stack found in modern shoes (my Pegasus have a higher stack in the forefoot then older editions had in the heel). I had been trying to run in regular shoes for aesthetic reasons (it is nice to lace up a sport specific shoe, and if you already are a fore/midfoot runner you look pro in something like the Nike Pegasus) as well as practical reasons (barefoot chuds don't want to hear this but the heel-toe drop is advantageous to a degree and does alter your stride in a way that is neither good or bad). I wish I could still find lower stack but not barefoot trainers but everything is blown up now.
You might like trying something like Altras. Although I've found that these alternate shoe brands and alternate-mainstream brands like Brooks are truly just and inferior product in the hand compared to something like Nike.
>>149292347>>149292552If the UAE roster is doped then Roglic is part of the mold. He was on the good program before anyone at UAE or Visma. Why anyone loves Roglic I will never understand, he's certainly not winning fans with his racing style.
>>149291471You can't be in the conversation for "best in the world" if you get spanked by someone like Buitrago and also don't win on the biggest stage of competition (monuments, WC, GT). Buitrago is good (great even and I love him) but so is Joao, maybe even very good. But not "top 5" worthy even if it is true based on one result sheet here or there. Unfortunately this says more about the state of competition than Joao, there's such a huge gulf in abilitiy between the top 2 or 3 and the next that it's hard to make a tight "top 5" or whatever.

New UCI point valuations, in effect since 2026:

Changes, interms of how much UCI points the winner gets:
UAE Tour 300->500
Strade Bianche 400->500
Fleche Wallonne 400->500
Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race 300->400
Omloop Het Nieuwsblad Elite 300->400
Classic Brugge - De Panne 300->400
Dwars door Vlaanderen - A travers la Flandres 300->400
Eschborn-Frankfurt 300->400
Copenhagen Sprint 300->400
Gree โ Tour of Guangxi 300->400
The 300 class is thus eliminated, winner of WT race gets at least 400 points. Personally I do not like these changes. UAE Tour jumping so high is absurd, and the reduction of the number of imputed prestige classes while beneficial from the perspective of promoting races in non-legacy countries, is at odds with the premium cycling places on tradition. Pogacar is mostly racing the same races as Merckx did, thus their Palmares can be more easily compared, than if Copehagen Sprint and Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race become monuments become equally prestigous as the monuments.
