I won't lie I think losing partey is a massive loss. Neither of his replacements can do what he does whether it's style of play and how he drops the shoulder and can ball carry and also bag the occasional goal, but also his versatility with him being able to play right back if needed which kinda came in clutch at times last season when white was out and timber needed to be rested. Zubimendi is basically a young jorginho but without much versatility or ability to break a press with his dribbling ability, and norgaard is an even worse version of zubimendi but without the passing ability. Zubimendi/partey rotation would've been awesome but zubimendi/norgaard leaves us wanting desu. It'll be like how we never truly replaced xhaka.

Don’t ask me, it seems no matter who is DoF there is always a certain element of retardation involved when it comes to certain transfers. Wenger wouldn’t ever buy a DM, now >we are stacking them, he wouldn’t improve the defense now >we are stacking LBs, midfield used to be full of technical players etc. you catch my drift.
>We somehow can never seem to find the right balance and Arteta is continuing in the same vein by neglecting the attacking midfield and forwards for years now. Hoped Berta would somehow fix that but considering who >we have signed so far or are close to singing I have little hope left.

So I always thought that Rice added most value for our team in the DM position (which made me think that we need to get rid of Partey for the team to finally gel). Looking at some statistics from the last two seasons (since Rice was bought) it seems I was completely wrong.

Rice has played 57 games for us so far (cups and league). 21 games as the DM and 36 games as the LCM.
With Rice playing DM we have Won 58 %, Draw 17 % and Loss 25 %.
With him playing LCM we have W 62 %, D 24 % and L 14 %.

Partey has never played LCM but his stats for 27 games is W 64 %, D 19 % and L 17 %.

Partey as the DM and Rice as the LCM has played together 23 games and we have W 64 %, D 19 % and L 17 %.

Rice as the DM and Merino as the LCM has played together 7 times and we have W 29 %, D 43 % and L 29 %. Merino as a midfielder has been pretty bad all over. He has never played the DM but as a LCM he has the stats of 17 games played and W 41 %, D 41 % and L 18 %.

Rice as the DM and Havertz as the LCM has the highest win rate of 65 % (20 games) but also D 10 % and L 25 %.

Nah. Partey was good last season but let's not pretend he was playing like peak 22/23 Partey. It was a miracle he stayed fit and you just know that couldn't last. Paying him even more at his age with his injury record would be madness.

>Zubimendi is basically a young jorginho but without much versatility or ability to break a press with his dribbling ability
Dribbling is not his skillset, but everyone knows that. No on is expecting a Wilshire like player here. Zubi is more about being happy to play passes under pressure, dragging opposition players out of position to create space, and always being available for a pass.

WRONG!
It's a 50% chance for either Sesko or Gyokeres to come or not. So: (50% Shesko IN/50% Gyok IN)/50% NOT IN. And thus, either one of them only has a 25% chance of coming (as things stand right now).
Situation is dynamic, however, and every few insta follows, x likes, family meltdowns on facebook and transfer-demanding hissy-fits can possibly weigh one feller or the other closer to this dream move.

I can understand the appeal, it's the only way we get to play against the big teams in Europe and we wish it was treated more seriously by everybody but yeah, atm we are the only ones that give a shit.

Starters: gabriel, saliba
Their backup, kiwior, mosquera

White, timber and calafiori are primarily fullbacks. Tomiyasu is a permacrock he won't play again. Zinchenko is leaving. It'll look something like this

Position, starter, backup:

LB, MLS, calafiori
LCB, gabriel, kiwior
RCB, saliba, mosquera
RB, timber, white

We didn't have a saliba backup last season and so he played most of the games and by the end he could barely move his legs because he was overplayed. Mosquera is a perfect backup because he's young and already an international and a starter for his team, but he's not big enough to demand a starting place.

[Marc Escribano] Arsenal have a agreement with Christian Mosquera. The London club has reached an agreement with the player and is now negotiating with Valencia. The initial offer of €14 million was rejected, but if the English club exceeds €20 million, the summer sale looks likely to be completed.
>Arsenal feel that Mosquera while he is a young defender he has enough experience to prove he is good enough for the clubs ambitions in Champions League and Premier League and he has a lot of potential to get a lot better.
The process is led by Andrea Berta who was already familiar with Mosquera before, because he tried to sign him while he was still at Atletico Madrid.
>Arsenal know that the player is entering the final 12 months of his contract and the process of reaching a agreement for a new deal at Valencia has stalled so ?Arsenal are trying to take advantage of that.
Arsenals first offer of 14 million euros was instantly rejected, however at Valencia there is a resigned understanding that they do not have the upper hand in negotiations,
>Valencia director of football Ron Gourlay is claiming they do have a solid position, but the understanding is internally that the magic number to get the deal done is 20 million euros or a figure slighty above that.
Arsenal feel like they don't have a good backup alternative to William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes besides Jakub Kiwior. Ricardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber are viewed as fullbacks more than centerbacks.
>Due to Arsenal already having a significant Spanish core consisting of: Mikel Merino, Martin Zubimendi, David Raya, plus Martin Odegaard who has played in La liga the club feels that Mosquera should have plenty of support to help to adapt at his potential new club.

Chelsea fan in peace here, wish you well with Kepa but he is pretty shit in all honesty.

The book on him is just to pump shots in from wherever you like and they will go in. He's decent 1v1 and commanding the box, but you'll start to realise opposing teams are scoring 'screamers' and 'unsavable goals' every week - aka they hit it from distance and Kepa just lets them in every time. To the point you wonder why no one else is letting in 'unsavable' shots every single week.
