That was before I batted fairly well in my last couple of matches (albeit against relatively shite bowling - wayward kids and slow but straight older guys)

Would still prefer being a bowlshomosapien thoughever

If they insist on putting me in the 3s then I'd quite like to have a bowl because I think I'd take wickets pretty easily at that level (literally just bowl straight and the batsmen will get themselves out within a few balls), but the captain tries to give everybody a game and lets anybody who didn't bat have a bowl

nz sport has really fallen off the map and it's sad
>combat sports
all our big guns have either retired, are losers, or are retired losers
>league
warriors are on a losing streak which will see them fail to make the 8
>rugby
is probably our... 5th most popular sport right now? no one cares
>motorsport
liam "loseson". not even scott dixon wins anymore
>football
our claim to fame is some part time plumber or whoever the fuck he is scored a goal against some brazilians
>golf
we had an old guy nearly win a tournament until he choked at the end and lost
>cricket
don't even remember the last time we played. do we still have a team?
Anonymous New Zealand No.149493077 >>149493114
>>149492939
>combat sports
not something a small country like NZ will be consistently good at. we will only have a star or two at most at one time and gaps between stars are to be expected. be happy we had a star at all.
>league
we have players all over the league (look how good Hughes was today) and the warriors is made up of a lot of non-maori polys and some aussies. thats "NZ's team" but it's not a NZ team. our league players are good.
>rugby
this is definitely the sad one. not sure what the solution is besides making some radical changes to the game (and I'm not even sure this would work)
>motorsport
don't care about this enough to be able to comment
>football
stronger than its ever been. Chris Wood was the 5th top goalscorer in the EPL last season. if you look at the all whites squad, the majority of them are playing in top leagues in Europe.
>golf
Ryan Fox won two PGA events this year, made the cut in 75% of the PGA events he played and made top 20 in ~45% of PGA events played. other golfers playing in other key tours. Lydia Ko obviously goated
>cricket
3-0 win in India. Sizeable pool of quality young players coming through, likely to be a top 3 team through 2027-2031

only zombie film that makes sense.
zombies themselves aren't heavily gimmicked, they just move slowly and bite the living.
UK setting means almost no guns, the refuge Shaun picks out happens to be the only place nearby with a gun. so the zombies have a more level playing field against people who only have melee weapons for defence.
actual crisis doesn't last longer than a day because the army steps in and that's that. its not dragged out over a long period just to have a TV show. this is what would happen.
like really, despite being a comedy, this is the only zombie flick that makes sense.

That sort of thing, but that match looks a higher standard than my club's 1s play at (and I've been bouncing between the 1s and the 3s, so the 3s standard is way worse)

Faced probably 2 or 3 80mph bowlers when I used to play 1s 14 years ago, when my club was better, but I doubt there's many in their current league who bowl above 75mph

Club cricket is an incredibly comfy institution in the UK though, I don't think any other country has quite the same thing (although they need to bring back cooked teas between innings to make it full comfy again)

Childhood photos show Sam spending his formative years in a stable, nurturing home, while images of Rakeem at the same age hint at a life already veering off course.

zachy, let's be real, you'll never be good at chess. consider the following:
you're not virginy enough to get decent because you have to put in 5+ hours a day based on current standards. you might have been 'decent' in the 90s before the Queen's gambit and youtube made chess overly saturated. the best you could be given your lifestyle is slightly below average - also I imagine you don't have the best memory for stuff like board positions

It's mostly due to using a Kookaburra ball for this round of fixtures (as well as the last one, and the next two). All cricket fans think it's a dumb idea, because that ball is known to do fuck all in English conditions. However, Rob Key and the ECB in their wisdom decided that county players need to use the Kookaburra instead of Dukes for a handful of fixtures every year, so that bowlers get used to it and will be better at taking wickets in Australia, meaning we may eventually win an overseas Ashes. Slight issue with the plan is that England players typically play between 0-2 matches for their county every year, and pretty much everybody currently slogging away with the Kookaburra ball has no chance of ever playing for England.

On top of that, we've also had a heatwave recently, and that makes things even easier for batsmen and tougher for bowlers.
