Puebla. It has received some maintenance in recent years, but it's still mostly used for the road course configuration.
I just don't want Hermanos to continue using the stadium section, it's a pet peeve of mine, but all the racing comes to a halt in that section and it's for the sake of "spectacle". Only the formula e configuration tries something different.
The real problem at the heart of all of this, is that we'd need to have SAFER barriers so that indy or nnascar could do any oval racing here.

Nascar reclaims them. They could sell them now but I think they'll hold on to them so they have more charters to offer new manufacturers and their partner teams.
Though there's also a chance the antitrust suit dismantles the charter system entirely, which is another reason to hold on to them until the case is decided.

From what I read, open teams make about 1/3 of the money that chartered teams do. So going ahead and fielding 3 cars (each) is going to cost both teams a ton of money. They could of course win this back in damages should they win, but there's no way either team could continue to operate long term that way. 6 out of 36 is actually a perfect number of road/street courses for NASCAR IMO. They require much more skill than plate races, and we don't hear nearly as much bitching about those. It's a discipline the best drivers like Byron, Larson, Denny, Ross, Blaney, etc have all adapted to and worked at. Have been randomly watching old NASCAR races for fun, and I came across that Kurt Busch in the 51 season. That run was more entertaining than his psycho meltdown at Penske. Incredibly based. Going to any race is always fun and it's important to go to the local tracks so they have a reason to stay open. Getting consessions is a pretty big help, too.
I used to prefer road courses and maybe I still do, but once I started to understand how the oval guys build momentum and used different lines and stuff, it became a lot more interesting to me. Plus, it's pretty cool to be able to see the entire track the whole time.
It's really great that your family wants to go with you. It might sound lame or whatever, but doing stuff like that together is really important and who knows, you might just be starting a tradition of going to races with your dad and future brother in law.
