You are a genuinely low IQ person. All team have a maximum number of players permitted. Brisbane's academy doesn't give them the ability to select more players at the draft than other teams. The total number of players drafted by Brisbane correlates with their extended time rebuilding. From 2012 to 2018 Brisbane finished 13th, 12th, 15th, 17th, 17th, 18th and 15th. Plus they had six of their draftees walk out on them during that time frame. The more time you spend at the bottom of the ladder the more kids you will draft. Why do you think North Melbourne has taken a similar number of picks in the same time frame?

This is flat out wrong. They still have a cap on their total list, like every team and whilst they get priority on academy selections they cannot draft more than which they have lift spaces, or available picks to match bids and academy teams are limited to matching 1 academy bid in the top 20 if they finish top 4 and 2 if they finish top 8. Brisbane can't just take as many academy players as they want unless they have the list spots, the picks to pay for them and are outside the top 8. If you look at your chart you'll see they've take 13 Academy players over a 13 year period so averaging one a year and the vast majority do not make it. Are you mad that the Lions were able to draft Jacob Allison or Connor Ballenden through their Academy? Or Ben Keays who's now winning B&Fs at the Crows after the Lions delisted him?

West Coast are just outright prohibited from taking kids because they tell them they won't go there. Brisbane used to have the same issue. How is a club supposed to rebuild with that limitation? Draft is completely inequitable by nature. Academies are simply there to level the playing field whilst boosting the overall talent pool.

And then the team ends up right back where they were only they've wasted two years development and a list spot on a player they now need to replace. Vicious cycle with no improvement.
