After the rumors that Ayuso wants to leave UAE came out Pog stopped winning. My theory is that the team wants to keep Ayuso, so they told Pog that he won't do the Vuelta this year. Instead they will give Ayuso a chance. Pog isn't happy with this and in return has "refused" to win races. Finishing 2nd or 3rd, when he could have won at least 3. This is his revenge, telling the team that he could but won't. The main reason is Matxin who brought Ayuso in and desperately wants him to become the new Pog. I think this is mostly due to there being fewer riders actually caring about GC this year. Most years there are 15+ riders still trying to go for GC by the final stages of the Tour. This year there are 11. Narváez is fucking 13th and the spots below him in the top 20 are filled with Visma and UAE hjælpers who aren't even trying to ride for GC.
